TVBlogger - I don't particularly hate hippies, someone has to walk around
with long hair and wearing beads to remind the rest of us how ridiculous we looked 40 years ago.
The ideals of acceptance and tolerance however are not only worth preserving from that era, they will become instrumental in saving us from ourselves as this planet becomes more crowded.

It's the problem
with being marooned within our own minds and experiences. We translate the world through our own point of view and what has happened to us. There's nothing wrong with that unless you begin to insist that people agree with you and conduct themselves from your point of view... which is what proselytizers do.
The hardest lesson to learn on this planet is the lesson of allowing -- allowing others to be who they are and walk the path they are on. I know this smells distinctly of new age, hippie, flower power, which you hate. But, if we would could learn to live what works for us and keep our noses out of our neighbors business, we'd all be a lot better off.
Basically, if you are going to someone and asking them to behave differently... based on your beliefs and conduct, then you are out of line and can be dismissed as a nothing more than noise.

As you know, I also believe that denominational doctrines, religious embellishments, rituals, and dogmas are problematic. I think that such a diversified realm of denominations has erupted as a result of the continuous tendency of man to try and solve the problem of sin; that is, to eliminate it from the lives of men. To confirm this, just look at the “self-help” or religious sections at your book store. It is an on-going evolutionary process that must continue until it succeeds in the resolution of the problem.
