Thanks for commenting, Jemmie. I don't like the unconditional access to young children we are gaining any more than you do. The assumptions behind this unfettered access are very traditional, believe it or not, the only difference being that we get paid for taking care of kids in preschools and being their teachers at the elementary level. It isn't an issue of whether or not we have the right to do those jobs, but the issue is whether we should have such a stranglehold on those jobs. There are some men that are suited for work in this field, who won't molest, and who will see to it that molesters are caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. They are just afraid to come out of the closet and admit to their appropriate level of involvement with children for fear of being seen as molesters or gays recruiting kids.

Excellent point.
There certainly are many women out there who abuse others.  And it is true that society as a whole doesn't always realize this and puts its unconditional faith in women when the women don't always derserve such faith.
