although I haven't been spending much time in Blogitland, I did read all of your posts. And I was touched by the depth of feeling they show even more then by their eloquence, which I have come to take for granted in your writings.
If I did not comment it was not for lack of appreciation, even admiration, for your words. It was that I, who tends to deal with the 'normal' problems of the world analytically, fall silent in the face of the horrors of Auschwitz, Treblinka, Buchenwald and all the rest...I will never, ultimately, comprehend these events, and what I cannot comprehend I cannot speak of, beyond uttering platitudes. I am in the position of the writer, whose name escapes me, and who said some time after the war, 'about the Nazis, nothing occurs to me.'
I am one of those, for whom these things are beyond words. And it takes the soul of a poet, such as yours, to bring them to speech after all, and to break the silence, as it were. I thank you for that, and hope that you will forgive my silence.
