You're quite right. Some songs are deceptively simple. Others are complex and layered with meaning. I stick mainly with song titles because of copyright issues. Titles are not copyrightable, lyrics are. But, as you can see, the titles alone can convey a lot of meaning.

It is quite something when you breakdown the lyrics of a song
so often the clever or heart-felt message is missed when we simply hear it on the radio.
