Alas, I'm adrift. My brain's on air, not enough caffeine
and I can't allu-cidate...  But I love the ebb and flow of your words. :)

Good game, good game, but I'm probably seeing what's not there. Here goes:

Burnished - like Cleopatra on her barge from A & C - Enobarbus describes how the African queen caught Anthony's desire.

War and Peace - Tolstoy.

Helen of Troy - is that the fish that launched a thousand chips? (Oh dear, getting silly already, frustrated at phrases that ring bells, but only up the google tower)

Theseus and Hyppolite (or Marlboro Lites or however you spell it.)

Strutting their little hour - Macbeth strutting and fretting upon the stage

Serpent of Old Nile - Cleo again

Gone, etc - from Julius Caesar?

moonbright night - bit of Dylan Thomas - fishingboatbobbing sea

Ancient Mariner?

Bloody civil war - R & J

Dire purpose - Macbeth again

Seemed to me like there were loads of Shakespeare snips in there, but I couldn't grasp them. Lovely stuff though. You made me read it ever-so closely.

Good game, good game.
