I forgot. It's not such a big thing down here, and there are only three children in the neighbourhood. I gave them dollar coins because we don't habitually have candy in the house. Sounds like you had fun.

Judging by all the empties, your upbringing was wholesome and fulsome.

Great photo!

Oh picked up four kids from four different schools at four different times
(yah, I was a taxi for halloween lol) then home to get the costumes on, off to Nana and Papa's for pizza and trick or treating, then to Grammy's (my mom's mom) to say Boo! and take out the trash for her. Home to bed, and now I am off to bed, as soon as I finish checking in on all of you.
That is one heck of a party your folks had....look at that set up!! You sure were a cutie. (:

Hello Symphony
Enjoyed the photos. Your mother was a cool early eighties Goth! I went trick or treating this evening with my young daughter and her friend, both dressed as witches. i mean the two girls of course! There were so many trick or treaters out and about, they were queuing up at each door!

I remember this one Halloween,
my uncle came running into my bedroom in the middle of the night, wearing a ski mask and swinging a hatchet. Then, when I woke up screaming, he started chasing me around the room. You know, pretending like he was going to kill me.
It was really funny.
Although, actually, come to think of it, that wasn't just on Halloween ... he did that several different times.
I've learned there are three things
you don't discuss with people:
religion, politics,
and the Great Pumpkin.

Bittersweet memories, eh, Symphony? Your Mom is lovely.
Halloween is a non-event here in my household, we don't get trick or treaters door to door. I happened to be shopping at the Junction nearby when the little ones were trick or treating at merchants' doors, it was so cute. It's just not safe to go door to door in the city
We haven't bought any candy, I don't need it.
