Definitely, ginnieb.
I knew her pretty well (we were very close) but there are certain things one never really thinks to actually ask. I'm glad I did. Hope you have a great holiday, sweet lady!!

I'm sure you miss her SpitFire...
...but wonderful to have been able to have a 'good' ending...if there is such a thing.  And to find out more about her too!

Thanks ginnieb,
Sorry about your dad. That's gotta be hard to lose a parent at such a young age. I actually wrote this post a year ago and unfortunately, Mom died not soon after. I did get the chance to "interview" her beforehand but the best part was after she died, my brother and I found a bunch of pictures she had in a box that we had never seen. She was more physically beautiful (on top of being beautiful on the inside) than I had ever seen in some of them. I miss her terribly but I am still glad I asked her certain things before she died.

That is totally important Spitfire...
...I regret not knowing stuff about my father although i was only 17 when he died but if I could interview anyone it would be him. So much I want to know about him. I think it's fabulous that you do that with your mom...you'll be so happy you did even though it's got to be an emotionally shattering time for you. My thoughts are with ya...

Wow, Jesse Jean,
I'm real sorry about your "Momma." I guess when it's our time, we don't have a choice of when or how. My mom actually passed away a few weeks after I wrote this.

Sweetie

I went thru the same thing a few months back, with the woman I called MOMMA> not my biological mother, but MOMMA, the one who raised me. But, when it was all said and done, Momma didn't die from all that coughing and wheezing, she died getting  up to get a cup of coughing and tripping on her robe, hitting her head on the side of the washer as she passed it on the way out of the kitchen causing an immediate bloodclot to form. You never know when, or where, and the best thing to do, is to validate, cherish and express that love every second of everyday, wether you be thousands of miles away, or right next door.

I remember you telling me about that, Jems,
Right after he passed away. I'm glad you did that, too. I know how much you miss him. I still have that pic of you two.

Thanks, Sir Strat. I hope so, too.

She's not doing well. I think she wants to go home to die. :(

Fun and happy post here, huh?

I had to record an interview with my dad for a class . . .
And now I am so glad I did since it means I have his voice forever.

That's actually a great idea for a lot of reasons, Young Miss.
I hope it works out so you can do it. Take care.
