Azur, is it possible that your downward emotional spin
has a basis in the physical? Maybe you should check with your trusted medics and make sure all's well with the "machine". As for the dentist having newer tools, no technical gadget will ever make up for a lack of in-depth knowledge, experience and a proven ability to gauge and inspire students. The guys doing the hiring have missed a major point.

Azur, the skirt may not make the woman, but I find that dressing the part
does help make me feel more "in character". Which reminds me that I think I will go put on my work "uniform": wool skirt ("sensible" length, grey or burgundy), colored tights (no hose), knit sweater or blouse, and "sensible" shoes. That way I'll be ready for my own next part: making the phone calls (after my coffee, of course).
As for comforting the bereaved member of your "edge of the circle" friend, what's left for you, if you drain the well for others? Send flowers?

I also feel that I should do more for my fellow man but can't just bring myself to it. I don't think you should let it concern you - you need to be in top form to help others so help yourself first.
