Loved this story from your life.
I love this story from your life, and it is so true that sometimes nothing can spare us from what may be coming our way with life.  Situations and difficult things in life will beset us all from time to time.  I like your descriptiveness, attention to detail, and symbolism.  Lisa

Sweetie, I meant that we have no option except living in the present .
We are helpless creatures always hoping for a better tomorrow . Our past is our enemy because it keeps pulling us back .Thanks.

Afzal
Sometimes people seem to live in the past, or live only for hopes of the future.  Neither of which do very much good.

Afzal, This is a very interesting story.  It is pretty much the story of every man as we never know how much time we have, what our end may be or what will happen to that which we leave behind.   My parents worked hard and left behind a nice house filled with many things.  Because each of us (six daughters) had our own homes with our own collected things, most of the things of my parents were sold or given away and the house was sold.   I drive by it once in a while and think how my parents would have loved for one of us to have lived there.

Frankenkitty, It is hard to believe unless you witness something of
the kind happening to you . Thanks.

Actually, the strangest thing happened to my dad.
He met a psychic at a bar nearly 20 years ago and she told him everything that would happen to him, and it did.  He laughed when she told him, because he didn't believe in psychics or even God.  He believed each man paved his own destiny, which is a half truth.  I think our fate is somewhere between choice and luck, but that's just me.  It's sad about your friends.  Take care

Afzal
This was very interesting and well written.
I think we help fate along.  It's best to live in the now, working towards what one would like to have in life for happiness.

Yes, Afzal, there is no guarantee of success.
Some people are lucky, and we think we should be lucky too. But most people have a mixture of good and bad luck, and others, who we see less of than the lucky ones, just have bad luck. Or maybe we try not to notice them, unlike you.
