yes Pat_B hugs belong in that greatest of all categories: warm/cool... which unfortunately cannot be abreviatted to w.c. as that would cause confusion to those of us who are old enough to recall that w.c. is, of course, the abbreviation for water-closet which is a charming though, I personally have maintained, exaggeratedly aquatic title for a toilet. The other day I was telling someone that there was once a time, before interconnecting sewarage pipes, when people were employed to walk the back alleys of the suburbs collecting each household's business of the day... she was completely amazed and appalled that such was ever the case. Now that's all very interesting, you may ask, but what the hell has it got to do with hugging?? Well nothing really it was just a nostalgic romp into a time that wasn't so long ago as ipod wearing people might imagine.

indeed blagging but now I'm beginning to feel a certain degree of guilt about ostracising the smelly ones... oh I don't know what to do about them!!!

I think I saw a documentary about her, Greenfields, or maybe she even visited Australia. I do remember thinking she had a lovely face. It actually is quite amazing that, as human beings, we can invest vast amounts of time and energy working out theories and strategies and sometimes the solution (or at least a significant step in the right direction) to solving some dilemmas can be contained in something as richly and non-verbally meaningful as a hug.

Hugs are cool. No, they're warm. But cool.

In India we have a woman called Amma (meaning mother) who had built up quite a following by hugging.  She has gatherings and people line up for hours just to get a hug from her.  How about that?  Personally, I'm into hugging.

Aren't all bloggers moving to Sardinia where there's no need for technology...just muttering our time away?

Where is Sardinia? And what do I pack? Melody

very nice Dave though there's a dragon like quality to his head .. is this a typical sight in Keswick??

Rob, I found the man dressed as a bear. Now wouldn't you want to hug him.
I wanted to, when I came across him on a sunny summer Keswick morning.

Yes, Ossifer, I may have had a few beers this evening.

Rob, I'm not sure why I just did all that. Seemed like a huggy thing to do. I couldn't be arsed to find my pic of a man dressed as a bear, which would have been much more appropriate. I had it when I was over at Taps' blog a while back.

I'm all for it. It would definitely need the placard of announcement though.
