There are also people who don't believe in God or at least have doubts who live virtuous and useful lives just because it's the right thing to do, whether or not there's an afterlife. l

As I'm sure you already know, I don't believe in "sin".
We experience life here to have the experience of being human, in all it's forms. Once we pass from our bodies into another plane, we reflect on all those experiences and make ingrained notes of the things we wish to keep with us through many lifetimes.
Then we start to plan for the things we want to learn and experience during our next lifetime.

Parnell, You do have a valid point but incase there is a life after
death then what shall happen for not believing in it because then the matters in addition or substraction of sins shall ultimately be the parameter for your well being in the other world . Thanks.

I don't think the existence of 'life after death' can be justified on the basis that a whole lot of other people, with equally insufficient evidence, also think it's true.
That would be fairly weak philosophy...
