Thank you for your comment. I must admit that I don't know about that book of Isabel Allende's.

Many years ago, she appeared on a woman's program on BBC radio, and she confirmed what I had always thought. She said that she was leaving Britain to live in the US, because she felt that in Britain one could only do what was permitted, while in America one could do anything that wasn't unlawful.

That's why I left Britain to come and live in Spain. Been here for 6 years , and this is my homeland now. I intend never to set foot in Britain again.

the "light" imagery reminds me of Isabel Allende's novel House of Spirits.  The generations of female characters who were clairvoyant had the names Clara, Blanca and Alba and I think the grandmother who didn't play much of a role in the narrative was Nivea (can't remember).  Yes the poem was worth reposting.

nonconformist

Thank you for dropping in. is your nonconformism a religious, or political leaning? Or neither?

Perhaps, like me, you scorn orthodoxy, and do your damnedest to overturn it? We sure need more nonconformists in here!

It's late here in Andalucia, and it's bedtime for old dudes soon, but be sure that I shall slither into your blog and see what gives in there!

Haven't read any of your work before....
...but I like it very much. Only been on here a couple of months. (So many bloggers it's a job to get round to reading them all.)

Praise from a fellow poet does indeed make one proud. And humble, I might add!

Thank you.
