we have an alarm clock
but I always wake up before it goes! I wake up at the same time all year round regardless of what time i go to sleep - which is not very good when you've been out partying all night!!!

I won't get rid of the alarm clock entirely as I need to be at work at a certain time and at least it's a fall back if I ever sleep-in!!!

Interestingly, in the news this week has been info about how to avoid Mondayitis (back to work blues). They say sleeping in on weekends is the cause of it - something to do with changes to your body clock/natural rhythms.

Nice post!

I too hate noisy alarm clocks....
...what a way to start the day! But I solved the problem by just getting a very quiet one which wakes me gently.

Very good post, Mandalee.   I have always used my own mental clock for waking.  It has always worked for me even when half a world away in Spain and France and my day was night and night was day.   When something very important is scheduled, I set an alarm clock as back up but I always wake before it goes off.    The only thing that I do to set my mental clock is right before I go to sleep, I think the time I want to wake.  I repeat it in my mind about three times and, voila, it is set.
