Afghanistan. It's not just remnants of the old regimes still fighting. It's not just insurgencies against the the new governments. It's not just resistance against the occupiers. And it's not just sectarian or religious violence. It's all the above.

saul, I think its past time for you and us (Canada) to get out if Iraq and
Afghanistan...our casualty list keeps going up in Afghan, and what does their fearless Pres. say? One of our staff members almost lost her brother over there during that candy giveaway..thank God the blast from the suicide bomber missed him

You're right, smartdog. Hope is what drives me to write this blog. Hope
is the what keeps me thinking that those self-aggrandizing, megalomaniacal bastards in Washington will begin to care about their constituents, their people, their military personnel and bring them home.

I believe that number (military casualties) is wither very close or past the number of civilian casualties (i.e. not including civil servants) from the WTC attacks.
Truly it doesn't seem to be getting any better. But you've got to keep hoping.
