I'm glad the two of you got the point I was trying to make. People as prominent as Foley should know better than to use alcohol as an excuse when they get caught with their pants down. Yes, AA members teach the newbies that you have to hit bottom to be put in a position to seek help, but this just looks to me like a convenient excuse Foley is using to get off the hook.

I'm with you!
I think he's using the fact that he's getting help with his alcoholism as a way of pulling the negative attention away from what he did to those boys.
I don't think he reallt has hit bottom, and I certainly don't think this "therapy" will help him at all. If anything, I think he'll be drinking a lot more to forget the fact that he got caught being a sick-o!

If this Foley guy is indeed an alcoholic, I commend him for seeking treatment and wish him the luck, but I refuse to believe he engaged in these activities because he was drunk.
