Straightforward,
In India the political environment has been seriously polarised and people fear in case the protests turn into a civil war of kind .I am afraid no amount of petioning will help his case as the Government is determined and the media is silent because it is controlled by a certain community .

I agree with u afzal, but don't you think you need to circulate a petition
with the brief points about the miscarriage of justice and also against death penalty anyways? Or is someone doing that already. I know there is a lot of protest in Kashmir, but why should it be restricted to Kashmir. There are many others of us who protest as well? i've been reading a lot about the unjustness of the judgement, but I find nothing going around yet to formally ensure that its diktat doesn't materialise.

I don't have any answers for that.  Here people get death sentences for a number of reasons.  I guess it depends on the view of the person.  If you happen to family or a close friend of one of the victims, I would assume the death penalty is much more acceptable.  I guess they are often justified.
I certainly wouldn't want to watch an execution.

The methodical and shameful taking of innocent lives is a horrific crime and yes I think it should be punishable by death.  Is it a deterrent to stop terrorism – not likely.  Are we playng God by sentencing someone to death? I prefer to think of it as playing human.   The pacifist within me is a little surprised by the position I just took.  As me agaqin tomorrow.
