I Think Honest is the Best Policy
I think for personal well being, it is the best policy for me. Guilt would get me and to live a healthy life, I must be honest regardless to the cost. I believe that we may have to suffer, yet it is worth it to me. It is difficult, yet not impossible and because many are dishonest, I cannot adjust for that reason. It has cost me friends, promotions, etc. The thing I can do is look myself in the mirror whether I am broke, busted, or disgusted!!

I can state my honest opinion but that is always subjective. No matter how many individuals say they appreciate honesty and find it refreshing, it might be based on incomplete information and therefore be quite unfair. Too often people use the excuse that they're being brutally honest to spout off some hurtful remark which focuses on another's weakness and ignores their strengths. And this in itself is quite dishonest.

That's a big problem in my life; everyone says I am too brutally honest. Even my own mother told me I should lie rather than tell what's on my mind...but I'm genetically and environmentally driven to stand up for what I feel to be true, regardless of how hard the truth may be. I do understand that at times we are all dealt with the need of a few white lies, insignificant ones to salvage some ones feelings, but most of the time a true friend says it how it is, and in the end the truth is appreciated. I've never been a "yes-er" and I'm not about to turn into the same thing that hurt me all this time; deceit. In life threatening situations; if it's values of mine that I'm standing up for, beliefs, I would be stubbornly proud to die.

Even if society does not reward honesty (in some cases) honesty is still purifying and can enrich the soul. Sure… there are occasions when honesty isn’t really necessary like “Geee… I don’t like what you’ve done with your hair” but I’m referring to remaining true to oneself and true to others. I think there is great power in the truth. I enjoyed the read.

I think no body is 100% honest . Honesty has become an adjustable
thing.

I believe you one should not hide anything for nothing is actually hidden.
Even the lives of most secretive people are known to others . Honesty is a wide ranging thing , it begins from being truthful to being faithful and so on and so forth . I do agree with you that one should be honest in all circumstances whatever the consequences. Thanks.

Honesty is a complicated matter. Too many people are not honest in their lives or in their words.
I believe honesty to be the right thing, no matter what the circumstances. True, there are many reasons that we are not honest at times, but I feel that should be the minority and not the majority of the time.
Honesty is how we get to know each other. If someone is dishonest, you can never truely know who they are. I like people to know who I am.
