Ypunday, grandiflora is a lovely way of describing these beautiful blooms, and thank you for your thoughts on my poem. It came to me quite quickly, as a way of expressing the mixed feelings I always have when it's time to say goodbye. What you say is true, tears are a gift, and they sometimes result in some 'not bad' poetry.

I feel like shedding tears for your separation, yet know that some of these gift of tears are meant as celebration of life & its mysteries. Pictures below velebrate this poem, & Jefferson's South, respectively

Taps,
I'm glad you liked it. She still feels small and warm when I hold her, and it is hard to let go, but let her enjoy her life, she's strong and she will be fine... I think I did an ok job with her... I hope...

mneme, This is beautiful. I love my sons most dearly and wouldn't trade a one of them for anything in the world, but I can't help but wonder now and then what it would have been like to have had a little daughter too.
