Other than classmates, most of the kids I hung with were a couple of years or more older than I was. I always felt that learning from and competing with older kids made me better in the long run. It probably also made me more appreciative of Elvis and the impact he was having on the teen crowd.

i was 12 in 56
turned 13 when E got big
a teenager at the right time.
