I came back to read your response to my comment and realized that I made a huge error. I ment to say that nagging was a sure way not to get the co-operation of others.

For all that I know of you, you have and have always had it in your power to break free of this. You only needed to have the desire to do so.

I can't say I've been nagged much by any significant other.....I simply don't allow it.
The men I have been with know better....If they start with me, I won't give in, and there will be a fight to the death if need be, and nearly has been.
As in your situation....you won't be facing this forever. Just stay focused on your goals....you will make it away from all of this. I know you can. It may take a while, I know, but don't give up hope. I know there is a better life for you than this.

I have a neighbor who nags herself, finding failure in everything she does if it's not done to absolute perfection. Fortunately, at least for a few moments, I can kid her out of a ridiculous apology for her perceived messed kitchen condition, with a quip such as, "How horrible ! "ONE dirty dish in the sink." (Her kitchen is spotless!)

At this time of my life I don't have anyone nagging me but I can tell you that nagging is the surest way to get others to co-operate with you.

I think what is worse is that they seem to be....
totaly unaware that thay are doing it. Maybe the secret is to make a tape and play it back to them?? But maybe not, they might just use it as fuel.... I had a spouse who nagged and found fault (for twenty years!) Now I have one who gives praise, it has a better effect that's for sure!

Luckily not my spouse, if I get told off or nagged I mostly deserve my agonizing tongue-pie treatment. Though there is the guy named the Toepey, he's the man with the clout whom gives yes and no's, in replys. For our requests for all different manner of things. Us being market stall holders . On behalf of essex county council. His name is Less, our nick-name for him is Mona Less'er, but at least the painting smiles. Mike
