Comments on How do you decide what to read here?

Julia--- I don't do much sorting through the new members anymore. For
me, that novelty has worn off. If one of them reads my stuff and comments, then I'll check him/her out. Otherwise, I read just a few regularly.  Those few write well, have interesting content, or both.

First I write, then I read the stuff my "favorites" have written, beginning with newest first.

I usually go for
movie/music/humor sections, then visit a couple specific blogs/people, and then whatever interests me. But on some days, I just play it by ear; whatever comes first.

I enjoy the "recently posted" list
I like reading and commenting on posts while people are still online.  It makes me feel more like I am walking through a small town, poking my head in to see how certain people are doing.

completely depends on my mood - the only ones i don't read are about politics and religion.  to be brutally honest I don't understand nor follow those 2 topics so I avoid them

I do it the same way you do
Reply to new comments and then go to favorites.  You are generally on both LOL!

It's rather hit and miss with me lately...

I read my comments

and try to comment back to each one.  Then I go look at any new blog entries and see which one looks interesting and then I go to my favourites and the bloggers who commented on my posts.  I try to read new bloggers but there is just insufficient time for me.

Julia
I just read as I see them come up. Some I have learned not to waste my precious time on, but others are a delight to see.

I read popular bloggers like you.
Catchy title is a must to get a click, than quality content to retain the user and a sharp end to a post, to inspire user to comment. I guess this is what a new comer should do. But for some popular blogit members like you, names of you people are sufficient to get hits. I guess you know the trick to attract users, writing nothing, and putting a question which no one can ignore. Like, this one "How do you decide what to read here?" See, I am making comment longest ever. I am new here at blogit, joined just couple of days ago. By the way I like to read posts appear on home page. I don't go deep in search of specific posts.

Julia
I don't have any fixed pattern to which was drawn my attention after reading you post. I'll mend my bad habit and pick up all those  jewels that all poeple left in your blog as comments. But upon opening I first go to 'comments' and choose from some interesting goings on, I put my leg in between forgetting to look into my own comments page.

I first click on those
that commented. If they read me I believe, out of respect, I should read what they posted. Then I go to my favourites and then I go to new enteries to see any eye catching posts

Guess I'm sort of a browser. Front page, favorites then newbies.

Hi, Julia.,
I guess I'm a hit and misser.  I don't have a favorites list.  There's just too many people out there that I enjoy reading.  Plus, I think the clutter of a list would bother me, and make me feel like I have to adhere.  It's weird, but anyway, no list.  I just click around a little bit of everywhere, also looking for eye-catching titles, but not always.  I'm sure I read some of the blogs more than others, but there is no logical system to it for me.  I read people whether I think they read me or not.  Some people just read and don't comment.  I'm like that sometimes, too, especially because when I do comment, it sometimes gets a little long for the original blogger to read.  (Sorry... :)  You folks are such an education for me, and I like the interaction, too.  :)  Thanks.

With me it's hit and miss unless I've sort of struck up a friendship, and I don't really know how that happens.

Favorites of course!

I simply read my comments, answer them
Then click on and read those who've read me.
