Color Story
As known, color is an electromagnetic radiation with a specific polarization/ orientation that differs with hue.
Amongst the living, most organism's see color in day time and no color in night time.
Change in natural color of any object is seen as change in state of either the object or the circumstance. Therefore, for the benefit of all, I may suggest that it is the change in color that affects your mind and the not the color itself.
Color will only provide medication when used in combinations, and changes occuring in the visual domain with caliberated design -patterns of usage or graphical quality. No single color can guarentee a blissful hegemony.

color
I always gravitate towards blue. There is lots of literature on the color thing as we're reading here. In addition to that, Afzal, I think you have to look at your own life. Think about things that make you happy or have brought you joy over the years. I've been told not to paint a bedroom bright colors as you'll never sleep. That may be so, but if you have a great childhood or adult memory about a birthday cake that someone decorated in red, I think triggering those good memories can only make you feel good. So, it may be red, but if that red item represented something that made you really, really happy, then that's the color I would use.
I surround myself with blue, but I have those serious red dress days. So, it depends on the mood you want to elicit.
Do you have a color that you relate to a particularly happy event in your life? Or maybe even a person. My grandmother had a lavendar robe which I was given when she died. In the winter, when I am having a sad day, I wrpa myself in that purple robe. That color may mean lots of things according to scientists, but at the moment I'm wearing it, it means a connection to my grandmother.

This is the book you need!
It is called "The Lucher Colour Test" I have had this book for a very long time and many people have borrowed it from me and found it to be very accurate. It has a set of eight colour cards with it which you can use to define your mood and personality. It explains how to do this and has many interesting facts about the effects colours have upon us and also what our choice of colours tells about us. I have always found it rather fascinating. I'm sure you could find it in a good bookshop, if not then definately on the Internet, probably Amazon. It is not an expensive book and is worth every penny. Personaly I love some colours, but not very bright reds and pinks, my favourites are earthy colours, brown, orange, yellow etc. The only blues I like are greeny blues and purple blues. I also like some shades of grey. So far as I know yellow is the best colour to make you feel optimistic about the future. Hardly suprising when you consider it is the colour of the sun.
Good Luck!

I haven't read what Rcky commented yet, but I'm sure it's good and insightful. So hopefully there won't be a need for me to explain further.
As for personal colours, what soothes my mind is a deep midnight blue. This is also my favorite colour.
I guess I wear mostly green and blue....and my car is red....although the one I wanted was blue!

Afzal......Maybe this will help answer some questions.....
This is a post I did last year..I hope you don't mind that I paste it here, it is a bit long but like I said it may answer some of your questions.......
COLOR POWER – HOW IT INFLUENCES OUR LIVES
Color has the power to influence our lives more than many of us realize. It can evoke memories, inner emotions and responses. It has the power to energize, sedate, cheer, depress, motivate, inspire and even enhance our learning abilities.
Color in the environment has a subtle but definite effect upon a person’s well being. There have been studies using specific colors in certain environments. Green was shown to be effective in promoting a more rapid healing response in hospitals. Blue in conference rooms allowed for greater communication in meetings. Rose pink or light blue is used in psychiatric wards to calm down agitated and stressed patients. The colors of the clothes you wear also affect your mood in your day-to-day life. In 1921 Rudolph Steiner, a scholar and authority on the subject of color, stated that “colors give rise to the feelings that lead to our actions”. Color has always been the thread that weaves us into the fabric of life, for all color is light, and light is life itself.
The ancient Egyptian healers recognized color’s profound effect on life. By observation they realized that the red end of the frequency spectrum was energizing, while the blue end of the spectrum was restorative. Using this information, Egyptian healers prescribed the wearing of certain colors to cure both physical and mental disorders and to restore balance and harmony in the body.
What is color? Color is more than just pleasing to the eyes. Color is light, and light is an electromagnetic vibration with specific wavelengths and frequencies. With our sense of sight the colors we see are only a small section of the frequency spectrum. The colors listed from the lowest vibration to the highest vibration are: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and ultraviolet. The colors of the chakras appear in the same order (as does the rainbow), from the first chakra (root-physical energy) to the seventh chakra (crown-spiritual energy). The colors of our aura are made up of these vibrations. The human body at the subatomic level consists of different frequencies of vibrations, which is what light is. Therefore, we are light!
There are many ways of using color to enhance our lives. Color can increase energy, promote healing and activate creativity and intellect. One of our lessons while here on Earth is to achieve balance in our lives. Color can help us achieve that balance. Color energy works in both a positive and negative way. By knowing our positive and negative sides and ourselves we may achieve balance by adding more energy of the same color, or by adding color energy of the complementary color.
Color Therapy or Colorpuncture is the science that uses color to change or maintain vibrations of the body to that frequency which signifies harmony, balance and well-being. It is being considered by many as the medicine of the future. Aura photography is being used by many hospitals throughout the world as a way of diagnosing a patient’s state of their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Color Therapy can then be used to treat the patient and restore their energy to health and balance.
If you are feeling tired and/or uninspired, try wearing red that day and eating red foods. Red is the vitality of life and provides the energy needed at all levels. Yellow is the color of intellect and mental activity. It is used for mental stimulation and will help you think better and more clearly. When I was in college I always wore yellow when I took my exams and I graduated with a 3.8 GPA. Find a chart or book of color meaning and characteristics and use the qualities of those colors to make desired changes in your life, to achieve goals and to restore balance and harmony. In addition to wearing certain colors and eating specific color foods there are other ways we can use color as a tool to enhance our lives, such as using colored candles in our meditations, color visualizations and color breathing.
Color plays an important role in our lives from birth until death and is an integral part of our world. Everything in nature-the animal, mineral and plant kingdoms consist of color. The colors of the flowers, trees and bushes hold a great appeal for all of us. We surround our homes with an assortment of color that is uplifting to our spirit and to the spirit of all who see it. We buy cut flowers for special occasions for our friends and loved ones, or for ourselves just to add a bit of color to our homes. A knowledge of the meaning of color and how we can use it in our daily lives can help enhance our lives, create a state of optimal health and assist us in achieving our true potential.

There's this color that i crave....
Sort of a sky-blue with hints of green and gray. It's a pale, smokey turquoisey color that I want to bathe myself in, roll around in, drink in, breathe in. Too say i love color is an understatement. It is to me what music is to some people.
