Yeow!
Hope you heal quickly Julia. Skittish cats need kid glove handling...or face shield protection. Body armor perhaps, lol.

Hello Julia,
I'm sorry about your attack cat. I know they don't mean to hurt us, but I guess it is their nature to trample us whenever we look too comfortable, or too dressy, or holding a drink, or trying to read something! Geesh, they are brats! Take care

Maybe some Vitamin E as well, that helps to keep the scarring down.

Julia, ouch is right, I hope it heals quickly, I've heard that TAPS
is right, cat scratches can get infected easily. I hadn't heard about lavender oil, Avant's suggestion, but keep a close eye on it!

Poor you!
We adopted a stray years ago with a bent tail (about 60 degree angle).
He was a bit mad, but generally a pet. My sister was playing with him, in a fit of enthusiasm, he jumped on her and ended up hanging out of her ear and part of her neck (sorry).
After disinfecting it, it didn't look that bad, but she did get quite a bad 'flu' after it. We had no clue that it was 'cat scratch fever' at the time, she still has the scar, but weathered it quite well at the time, not bad for an eight year old.
Just go to the doc if you start to feel 'flu-ey'.

My 17 lb monster feline
once tore across the bed, not seeing my head snuggled deep in my blankets. He left a deep gash just by my ear. Not a pleasant way to be awoken but it healed and had he understood, he would have felt awful.

If you put oil of lavender on it, it will heal very quickly. Also keep it clean. Best of luck on your recovery.

oops
I was trying to send you a link using a different html method. I'm still learning - it was just to show you who Beanie was through his picture!
(It didn't work.) The URL is valid however.

What we cat owners go through...
What a rude awakening. Hope those don't become infected but I know they must hurt. I'm sure kitty had no clue. My massage kitty, Beanie, is standing next to my keyboard, reading along with me. He agrees that your kitty had no intentions of leaving you to look like Frank.
<a href="http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/ceemarie533577/">This is a link</a>
But my Beanie cat is reminding me he needs food which means I have to get dressed and leave Blogit to take care of stuff in real life; like go buy their special lamb and rice science diet brand (he only one they don't barf up). I've had some rude kitty wake-up calls but none like that! Hope you get all better real soon.

Curiosity killed the cat, like it is said. But this one was quite the reverse. Almost .... left you gaping. Wish you a fast recovery. The poor cat coult not have meant it though.
