Have met some of these already
having read some of their comments in muser rhymes :) I've read Justi's coffee times with her mother, and enjoyed those - I love the south, lived there for a time and still think about it.

muser, thank you
I'll look at the syllable counts again, and you certainly picked up on the metaphor.  I was called a pearl once and it stuck with me, and somehow surfaced again recently.  Pearls endure; the older they get the lovelier they become. Unless stuck in a drawer...!

Also, mneme...go to TAPS poetry Blog "Comforts and Pleasures"...You will
find some poetry there that will touch your secret heart of hearts! She is a most wonderful poet! She will take you on a visual flying carpet ride; she'll make you laugh...she'll make you cry... More of my regular reads: Justi: a true southern writer; her Blog "A Forty Year Coffee Break Just Me and Mama" is the very essence of growin' up in the South! Her other Blogs are pure Justi...they refect her lightning rod personality...she says what she means, and she means what she says! I went to see her when I went home back in June...I can't wait to visit her again! Lensman...wonderful writer; man with a good heart, spiritual, intelligent, all good stuff...and although this has absolutely nothing to do with his considerable writing skill and talent...he is a good looking man...beautiful on the inside as well as outside!!, smartdog670; a beautiful young man...he touches my heart on so many levels, even when I don't always understand his poetry. He is a bright light who battles at times with a dark force...this guy is such a talent in my view...he can (and does) write anything...all good! Wiley.Coyote...an absolutely adorable man...if you start reading his Blogs, you will fall in love with him too! He is my spritual grounding in Blogit.com...his morning post often serves as my morning devotional. I think you have met Blanche01...her journal is a must read...she takes the ordinary of every day...and writes it into the realm of the extraordinary!I have learned everything I know about Blogging from Ariala...a multi-talented young woman. She doesn't aspire to writing a novel...she is first and foremost a Blogger...and she is the best! Lots of great info on her Blog!

There are others...but I have been up since "o'dark thirty", and my brain is getty fuzzy...time for a nap! More later

Dear mneme...Haiku is cerytainly not for everyone! Yours are just beautiful
and I like that you wrote a long poem with Haiku verses...I love making up new words, writing in different styles, etc. basically, no rules in writing! I haven't been wandering the blogs much this last week...sorry, I have just gotten to the point of "crash and burn"! i know my limits, and have gone way beyond!

personally, I really, really like this poem..we have so many layers like a pearl...we are the pearl...After reading this , I thought about my not so cheerful birthday sonnet for this year about the betrayal of the mirror...
then I read this beautiful poem you wrote which heled me get back into my more usual serene mode...by reflecting on the irritations in life...the disappointments, the anger, the body's betrayal...and yet most of the time i actually feel beautiful...the extra pounds, the hair gone natural, the laugh lines and fine facial wrinkles...are also minor irritations...but like all the others over the course of my life have caused one lustrous layer of pearl essence after another to cover me...I'm probably a $50,000 mikimoto pearl by now!

keep up the lovel Haiku poetry...I find it so challenging...as well as very relaxing...don't you find it good therapy as well?

o.k. i know you would want to know this(as i write with no caps or punctuation)...second verse, third line: syllable count... fourth verse, second line: syllable count...

Thanks, YPunday
though I think they are not to everyone's taste, judging by the silence :)  I am supposed to be working...!  Love your haiku blog - it's something I've never tried before and I am having so much fun with it.
