marieclaire66, It is so nice of you that you want to be of some help to
somebody . God almighty showers his blessings on people who love and help others .People who have personal experience of such crisis in their life can only understand the pain of others.

I am a soft touch myself. Compassion and discernment is needed.
You cannot carry the world on your shoulders. You also cannot be held responsible for other people's life, you are responsible to them but not for them. It is not your job to rescue people, while it is very noble of you to risk all for others, you have to admire people who put their lives on the line for others, you have to be careful not to become somebody's pawn, and become used. It is important to realize what drives you to help others, is it the need to be needed? Are you a rescuer? Do you get a sense of worth, importance or purpose out of this? What are your motives? Is this a way of feeling loved at all cost? Can you just be you, not do a thing and be loved for who you are without having to "do" anything? Are you a people pleaser? What are your motives? Are there strings attached to what you give others? I think that humans being humans, we could all probably give a yes answer to all these questions? but surely in the process of answering them for yourself, in an honest way, just for you, you may find the answer you are looking for. Only give what you are prepared to give otherwise you start resenting your gifts if people are not grateful. I admire you generosity of heart, but no one likes to be taken for a ride and they are always users out there ready to take advantage. So beware, keep happy. You seem an alright perfectly human sort of a bloke, you are a guy? in case I got it wrong. Well that was my two cents worth of wisdom, if only I followed my own advice....
