You were addressing Shatz but I guess he isn't coming on to reply and as it is my blog I will to some degree. What you say about a religion maybe not being a threat from all the people of any country. That is true of some. It is not true of Islam and many do not want to believe that even when the evidence is everywhere. An interview last night in a documentary was done with a 3 1/2 year old little Muslim girl. She had already learned to hate with a vengeance. That is a threat.

I wish more people would remember the importance of not stereotyping entire nations and religious beliefs....not just in the US but the entire world. Extremists exists in every part of the world and in every religious sec....but that does not mean their entire nation and religious beliefs should be generalized as a threat.

An example of what you are talking about is in the day of Queen Victoria you could only take a bath once yearly it was unGodly to see the body. Yourself see your body mind you! If they will use the Bible as a reference instead of the fear they will make it fun. People should read the Song of Soloman it is a beautiful book on marriage, courtship, love and all the balance of closeness of love.

There are two important scriptures that address this situation. One I refer to the man whom you described as devout. God said you will know them by their love. (People are not to be known by the title Christian but by the way they live their lives) The others including the minister need to talk with the Lord about their status. The other scripture goes something like this. There are those who thought they were such good Christians, at least professed to be and when it is time for the Lord to allow the true servants in they step up and He says I never knew you. They begin to argue what all they have done in his name and He rejects them saying I never knew you. You can't be a Christian and lie and cheat and do as you choose. You can call yourself that but it is not the case according to the Word of God.

It's not Christians who are shy about sex...
it's puritannical Christian sects. "not in front of the children," don't use "that" word, spell out s e x.  hide the body.  they forgot that forbidden fruit is more appetizing.   i think the christians we put down are the ones who are always selling the idea that theirs is the only right way to be. my mother used to say the ten commandments are common sense, a guide to living peacefully among people.

I have done lawn and tree work around here for four years. The most honest, giving, loving people I've done work for have been Christians. There are some, however, who have lied, tried to get more than they paid for, and criticize everything I've done without a single compliment. This one fellow in particular was a minister. But, as you say, one bad apple can spoil a bunch. My favorite person of all of them is a devout Christian. He and his wife are paragons of love and tolerance.

Yes seems there is standing room only when the word Christian is brought up in any sort of controversial manner. Thanks for stopping by.

That is exactly what being a real Christian is about 'not being just a human'. When the Christian and the world look alike there is something wrong with the Christian.

I am so sorry some people are not told that Salvation is something 'walked out', not snuffed out. You are right they had rather fight than switch. Perhaps that is why Christianity has such a black eye. Thanks for the read.

Did I mention any names? What is a Bible Thumper. I don't think just getting along together is the answer. I don't think that was the subject of my post either. I am only talking about those people who don't really know what a real Christian is and goes about blaming them for any ill they don't understand. But I thank you for the comment.

I agree with Schatz - we're all just human.

Justi, deep down inside they know we are right, and they know
they should yield to Christ, but they would rather fight than switch!

Passionflower is a born again christian. I think she's speaking from her
childhood experiences. A lot of people feel judged by people who cite certain passages from the Bible, but obviously don't adhere to other passages. Christians have sometimes tipped the polls because of politicians who appeal to them through sensitive issues. There are plenty of reasons, but they're all stereotyping. Not all christians are bible thumpers. Not all are obtrusive religiously. But a good number are. It is perception that separates us. Nothing more. We are all humans. We all live on this planet together, and on a smaller scale, we share neighborhoods and communities. We have got to learn to work as a team, regardless of what we percieve to be our origins. We all have to make an effort to get to know one another on a personal level, and make our choices based on those facts, not the ones that we see in newspapers and on television.
