Wow, I did not know that. I will, the only trouble is you don't see where they are until it is too late.

justi, I've seen on tv those bees are breeding with the killer bees and their stings can be fatal.  Don't mess with them, get yourself and any living thing as far away as you can get.  Those bees don't have to be bothered, they come after you for no good reason.  Be careful, please.

I will keep these little ones inside. I live downtown to much traffic to be outside. I am north of where they are finding them, but their habits appear to be new and different. Strange. I don't want to mess with any of them.

Thank you for this information. I knew they were aggressive. No I am not where they are finding so many; however, I don't know how far up they are coming. I am in the northern part of the state. My husband's children all live in Mobile Alabama.  They have little ones. I am glad you told me about the gasoline. I thought I saw one in the house yesterday, it wasn't. We have a lot of red wasp but they are not aggressive. They don't bother us unless we bother them. But it is so dry here things of that sort are hunting water anywhere they can find it. We have seen a lot when we water plants and such. I know where Ozark is, near Dothan. It truly is a small world.

I cut myself off. I was stung seven times the first exposure I ever had of them. I mowed right over a hole, and they came up from both sides of the mower. I had to keep both hands on the zero turn handles to get away. I got stung four times on the face, once on the head, and a couple of times on the arms. I had to take ibuprofen that night I was hurting so bad. It was awful. Be careful around those buggers. They can kill your pet or really injure small children.

I made a lady last summer who had an allergic reaction to such an attack. I made light of it, until she almost quit breathing.

Be calm if you spot one. Turn off your weed-eater or mower and move out slowly. They will attack if provoked or get agitated by a machine. I got stung seven times before I could get away. That was very painful.

Having said that, I've killed many holes by pouring gasoline into them. No need to light it. It kills on contact. If you want all of them, wait until nightfall, when they've all returned.

They are very aggressive, more so than regular wasps.

I didn't know you were in Southern Alabama. My brother and his family reside in Ozark. He's the town pediatrician.
