The world seems mad, all right.
But nothing bad  lasts forever.

That is so good. I hope it does not grow. Our little town has grown. The chains have come to town. We still have one bank that has a live receptionist. It is truly great. I love little towns like that. In what area of Michigan do you live?

Sadly compared to some of the 911 service a computer might be a better bet.  GIVE ME CARING, COMPASSIONATE HUMANS!!!!!!

Can we tell, computers are my pet peeve when it comes to service?  Maybe that is why I love my little small town.  We don't have computers to answer phones and when we do business we deal with people.  I stopped in the hardware store the other day to get some jelly jars and a few small items.  I could carry them myself but as usual the owner insisted that he put everything in my car for me.  The world needs more small towns LOL!

That is what I mean. A person in crisis may not be what someone else would call really bad, but it is for that person and they need to be able to reach another human being by voice if nothing else. Next thing you know it will be 911 on computer. Press 1 if you are dead.

Seriously CHURCHES???
That is just a bit too much!  A computer doesn't do much good when someone is in crisis!

Good luck...I'm troubled too....
The wildfires in Calif are about to merge causing a very dangerous situation. Israel is bombing the crap out of Lebanon, the whole northeast is flooded....the whole south has a severe drought...it goes on and on.

Justi, would you settle for a smile?  Remember this:

The year's at the spring
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hill-side's dew-pearled
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn;
God's in his Heaven -
All's right with the world!

Robert Browning (1812-1889)
Pippa Passes (1841) pt. 1,l.221

I know that it doesn't seem that way any more, but God is still in Heaven and He has the whole world in His hands.

That is the rudest thing about any business. Even churches are on the techno receptionists. If you can't call the church and get a live person you can't expect anything else of them.

Justi
You have that so very right.  As for customer service...first one has to get a human instead of a computer!
