Afzal--- Interesting post. I believe that superstition and religion are
inextricably entwined, mostly because both are based on belief.

I'm not Superstition, but . . .
yesterday on 6-6-6, I had a fender bender, my battery went dead, my computer cut out in the middle of a story and it took some time to get it back, the TV froze for 20 minutes, I had ants in the bed-room and the paper wasn't delivered. I was afraid to go to sleep last night and that's nutz. I laid awake until 12:01 AM, then rolled over and prayed: "Than God this day's over." And this morning I'm listening to colleagues telling their tales of electronic and mechanical mishaps yesterday.

Afzal,
I have never been a superstitious person.  They seem silly to me.  On religion vs. superstition, I'm going with my trust in Jesus!

If religion is north , superstition is south
always opposed.. but in India  they are same. Religion and superstition goes hand in hand only to confuse people.
