Truth and Lie define each other, you can't have one and not the other.  There needs a sensible balance.  A white lie told with good intentions is better than a Truth told with bad intentions.

You make some very good points, and I agree with alot of what you say.

I would not be so brave as to define truth. I believe that everyone has their own truth that they must discover. I believe that alot of conflict ensues when others attempt to tell you who you are.

I think you must be true to yourself. True to your nature. However, this does not give your license to put your interests before everything else. Yes, you must be yourself. But, you must be a first-rate version of that self.

I also believe (call me naive) that humans are basically truthful and decent in the natures. It is the deviation from truth that opens the door for wickedness. It is the lie within that causes the evil without.

Personally, I believe that following my personal truth requires me to be decent and kind to others. To extend love and forgiveness. The more that I do not do this, the farther I am from embracing truth. I would venture to say that all humans are built that same way, it is just that some choose to ignore this nature in themselves.
