While I believe anything is possible, I feel it's unlikely East and West will ever be able to join together and be mutable societies for the very same reasons you began your post with. Very thought provoking!!!!!!

This is a tough question...we're dealing with two vastly different cultures
and traditions. I'm not sure they can be reconciled, but maybe an understanding can take place and both can learn from the other?
