I understand when I had him out for a walk someone came up to me and told me all about fleas and how this town is infested with them. Great another thing I have to worry about. Next week we take him to the vet and I'll ask about preventing them for my family and the dog. Thanks for reading.

No I have never had a dog, my husband had a cocker spaniel before I met him. Yes the dog chews my leather sandals the only shoes I have left, and he is chewing the corners of the couch. I love him though he's so big and cute and he can't be alone for a minute he whines for me when I go up the stairs or leave the room. He weights more than my daughter already.

8-Ball,  I know you will enjoy your puppy but I surely hope no one ever brings one home for me.    I don't want to start all over again with that, at least I don't think so.   They sure are tempting though.

Have you had a large dog like this before???
This type of dog will chew up shoes, belts, clothing....then  progress to where he chews off the corner of the couch. I've seen them eat a king size mattress before.

He was the biggest dog in the litter, that's what my husband said. So he will be a big dog I hope he wont have problems later on. My friend had to put hers down because it got too big and couldn't support it's weight and had hip problems.

I don't mean potty trained. LOL With a big dog, comes big responsibility.
Get obedience training once he turns 6 months old.   It will be the best dog you've ever had.   (I love Rotties!)

I'm glad your older dog feels young again, I think our puppy misses his family because he keeps running up to other dogs and wanting to play with them. I have to keep him back some dogs don't like him and then he gets sad.

You think his paws are huge now, just wait till he grows up--
actually all of him will be huge, but there will just be more of him to love!

It takes time but dogs always get their people trained!

Now your fun starts, our puppy is about six months old and is a chuauaua (sp)but it has turned the 9 year old pit bull into a puppy all over again.  What a mess these two stir up to bringing in the dead weeds on my clean rug to running around the house like nuts. Good luck

I could never own a dog ... they require too much responsibility.

I prefer the aloofness and independence of cats (not to mention, scorpions and tarantulas).

I didn't have to do it,
But I did it to say,
"I didn't have to do it,
But I would anyway."
