I'm not worried
I think Nature will respond to mankind's "progress" one of these days, and there'll be wind, rain, fire and plague... Just enjoy today's festival and tomorrow's sunrise, and keep your fingers crossed. :)

Ariel70,

I agree, Political Correctness has become a de facto gag rule in some places, academia hasn't been a place to explore ideas anymore, so much as goose-stepping to the latest fad. The craziest idea I've heard anyone espouse lately is from a friend of mine, a lawyer, who  espouses Non-Violent Conflict Resolution, which attempts to resolve all issues by making everyone feel warm and fuzzy, so that the mission of an organization is completely subsumed by the need to feel everyone within the organization "included", "heard", and "valued for their input", never mind that it doesn't produce or do anything that it is supposed to do.

Non-violent conflict resolution and lawyers, isn't that almost a contradiction in terms?  I mean, lawyers are supposed to argue the merits of a case, pro and con, and sometimes one wins and the other loses.  It's the nature of the beast.
