You are so lucky
Jemmie, I just loved your story.  I have found that it takes a very mature and well adjusted person to remain friends with an ex boyfriend or girlfriend.  I have tried (in vain) to be friends with an ex who was devastated by me years ago when I broke up with him.  He has since married and has three kids, I have since married and have three kids... and we're both happy in our lives.  However, I still - to this day - feel bad about hurting him although it was definitely the right thing to do.  My husband remains friends with his ex but try as I may - my ex boyfriend will never reply to correspondence or e-mails or even be friendly.  Your story is wonderful and I'm envious.  Like you said, he knows you very well.  There aren't many friends that come along in our lives that we allow to get that close.... and, it would have to be either a great friendship (I would think) or non-existent.  Thanks for sharing that.

Jemmie

Yeah, John was great, wasn't he?

Why did you two ever split up?  Such a shame...*sob*

mmmm Nice.
I think we all have a long time friend like that.  One that makes you smile when you talk to them and keeps you smiling through the day.
