Is really interesting, if you like that sort of thing, as I do.

Category 2!
hurricane winds to be exact!  SFO was reporting 71 mph winds last night on the 11 o'clock news!  Just when I thought the sun had won...the next wave of rain hit..sideways rain! Yuck!

Interesting post, Nanaroo. World Wide Words is excellent.
I always go there to find stuff out. But, very often, there are several theories for the etymology. It'd be nice if everything just had the one answer.

yes, it is mudslide season- but we haven't had much rain this winter so maybe there won't be many of those happening...    Say, isn't mudslide a drink too?

I love Mendocino. It is gorgeous. It reminds me of being a little kid and hiking through those woods.

Sunshine is on it's way!
Nan ~ You must be getting the storm that bombarded the SF area and north coast yesterday.  Trees were downed, power outages everywhere, and fear of flooding in Napa county again.  The winds guste to 98 MPH in the Golden Gate last night...very blustery day and night.  This morning the sun has been able to penetrate the clouds and we get a bit of a reprieve before the next round of storms tonight.  Hang on ~ Sunshine is headed your way again!

rain in the desert is an event!  Where in the desert are you?

posted by Nanaroo on February 28, 2006 at 7:29 AM | link to this | reply

Nanaroo.. I'm going there. It is raining here in the desert, and even

though the rain is an event, it doesn't beat being by the ocean.

That little tiger is our pet, "Little Chief" - he travels everywhere with us.  He was our 'pet' before we got Mister Cat!  Now he hangs out in the bedroom with the rest of the critters- his buddies, I'll do a post about them...

Oh, so that's where the term comes from
Is that a toy tiger you are holding? Because we have a whole family of them, and one of them looks just like yours.
