I am not much into politics. However, I do find your blog intriguing (did I spell that right?), well written, and informative. In general, I like it a lot. And I agree about Bush. I voted for the man, and if given half a chance would vote him right back out again.

Your Post...
...clearly demonstrates that there is massive and cross-party, cross-national, cross-religion opposition to the Madness of Bush.

Does that not tell you something?

There's opposition in Muslim lands. Opposition in bin Laden (of course). Opposition in Western lands, in Christian lands. There's opposition in America. There's opposition in the Democrat party, and amongst Conservatives. There's opposition in the military. There's opposition amongst writers and thinkers. There's opposition in the media.

Do you never stop to think - Hang on a minute. If there is so much opposition around the world, from all sides of every fence you choose to identify, then maybe - just maybe - there might be some substance in that oppostition? Indeed, there might be something there worth listening to, rather than dismissing it out of hand?

You made the case. I'm just showing it to you in another light.

"Look at the barbaric people you are siding with....does it make you feel more enlightened?"

The innocents of any nationality are who I side with. Actually U.S. troops have taken photos of their handiwork, but I don't blame them as much as I do the administration for actively desiring and encouraging torture. Yes, Saddam was a monster, but previous U.S. leaders - including Democrats, I'm not a Dem. supporter either, btw. -  assisted his rise and his weaponry acquisitions. Good for business. Okay, done and in the past, but have we learned anything at all about supporting tyrants and oppressors? Let's see, the Saudi ruling elite are still considered allies, Chinese communists are big trading partners, dictators of the 'Stans countries have received U.S. aid...Hell, at one time the Taliban was even courted. Good for business it was hoped...When you make deals with the devil, for whatever reason, you become tainted with the same evil.

Please note that I don't feel the need to engage in tit for tat barbs; I'm curious to know how labeling my view as BS and tarring me as a supporter of barbaric behavior adds anything to the discussion.

How does that compare to the recruiting power of innocent Muslims tortured and senselessly killed by our government?

Here we go with the same BS repeated over and over......I'll play the game....

I don't know...how does it compare to the hundreds of thousands that were killed and tortured by Saddam?  Were mistakes made...of course.....but we did not systematically strive to eliminate  masses of people.....what ever instances found have been pursued and prosecuted.  Are you naive enough to believe this is the first time that some individuals stepped out of line?   Things like this happen in war!  Any war!

Have we beheaded anyone and happily displayed the action globally on TV?  Look at the barbaric people you are siding with....does it make you feel more enlightened?

Fabulous quote, Corbin...
Do you think your opposition sees the connection?

As to you first sentence.......

Had these Democrats made the comments they have made, during Woodrow Wilson's reign and World War I ,they would have summarily been locked up...... and Wilson was a Democrat.......all the jaw flapping over loss of liberty, et al, pails when compared with  the controls in place during both WWI and WWII.

Exactly what are the "results of their actions"?
That BinLaden knows Americans still have some degree of freedom in their speech and thought? And as an opportunistic, deranged criminal is trying to use that fact to his advantage? How does that compare to the recruiting power of innocent Muslims tortured and senselessly killed by our government?

And he also said.........

Beware, lest in your anxiety to avoid war, you obtain a master........

Many here in America could do well to heed that little warning.....

As Blanche would probably say.....

I think I see a straw man a hiding here.......I don't agree with GW on many economic or spending issues...but that's not the point of this post is it?

Believe me Republicans and Conservatives alike are behind the President's effort to destroy the enemies of our country and the culture of Western Civilization......

What's next the Tin man or Cowardly lion approach?

Corbin,

I really appreciate the accuracy of your posts. You are an intelligent, well-read individual of insight. Okay so we share the same opinions. So, I leave you with two quotes by  Demosthenes knowing that you will understand what it is that I am trying to communicate...

Nothing is easier than self-deceit. For what each man wishes, that he also believes to be true.

There is one safeguard known generally to the wise, which is an advantage and security to all, but especially to democracies as against despots. What is it? Distrust....

Thank you as always for sharing...

Corbin Dallas,
Sounds like Karl Rove and company wrote it for him! Who do you people think you are fooling! Bush needs all the help he can get! Bin Laden, bin Dead! Bush, Blair, Rice, Rumsfeld, Powell, and Cheney all need to keep him alive to stay out of jail!

With your King's poll numbers around 40 percent ...
I don't think you comparing everyone who disagrees with the mighty emperor can be labeled another Osama Bin Laden is going to gain much traction, as Karl Rove would say. In case you haven't noticed, most of the King's opposition is coming from conservatives, and not just criticism about the war in Iraq. I was shocked, shocked, shocked to read the Wall Street Journal's opposition to the King's administration on the economic front.

I don't think the Democrats are any better than
Osama bin Laden. They are almost assuredly worse. bin Laden believes in what he says. The Democrats spout their filth to try and get back in power.

Corbin I have wondered the same as Dr. It is so strange that
the Americans living in the US are so angry, so hate this country and all that it stands for that they leave all the issues we have to cry out against George Bush. No man ever I bet in history has been used in so many quotes as this man. Strange!
