I don't think there are very few situations where BARKING is a good method of handling them. Well. . , if you're communicating with a dog. . , then it might be a good method. *grin*

I feel for your friend B. For the longest time whenever I enrolled in classes, my mom would try to tell the counselors what classes I wanted/needed to take without really allowing me to speak for myself.
I don't like being harsh with anyone, but I finally had to put my foot down with her and tell her that while I love her, I don't appreciate or need to be spoken for.
I think that because we do have some type of limitations, we need to be assertive in order to be heard at times. I agree though, there are certain public places where these types of discussions shouldn't take place.
I hope your friend can find a way to speak to her father about this issue that won't be hurtful to either of them. I wish her well.
