Why am I not
surprised by this?

I am personally disgusted that a company which I give money to. . . ,
would sell my personal information.  I'm sure very soon, one of the cell companies will come out proudly claiming that they DO NOT participates in such practices. . , and when they do I will switch to them (if my cell phone company is selling its records).

Interesting entry.

Corbin

I am happy that I don't live in the USA - I wouldn't like my cell phone records to be sold, it is a nonsense, it has nothing to do with freedom. Meanwhile you are invited to visit my blog, if you comment my poor writing, I will feel honored

Corbin,

Excellent post here. I'm not worried about my cell phone simply because it wasn't worth the cost to keep it turned on. Shadow

CORBIN

Good point and post! Now if they want to buy all this info, and say mine happened to be one of them, they would probaly want to lock me up. Reason being, my cell phone stays in my garage where I keep all the democrates. Mostly it consists of " Do I turn right or left on vine"??? You get my drift!

No they won't be as upset about that because there is no GW in front of the asking!!!

It's doubtful, Corbin.
I'd venture to guess they rarely see the whole picture...

Corbin,
I'm a little confused, about what exactly is for sale.  Is it cellphone numbers linked with actual names and addresses? So then, having that information, a disgruntled spouse or other unhinged person could then track a phone call?  This might be bothersome for someone who's trying to hide from their spouse, but I'm assuming that law enforcement have their own means to hide their identities.

It still doesn't come close to the potential for misuse that roving wiretaps and surveillance has, IMHO.

Thanks for this post Corbin,
and I would like to see the people who get all in an uproat over the NSA weigh in on this tidbit of news.

This bothers me a whole lot more than the government
listening in...this is far more likely to be damaging to everyone...

Corbin Dallas
I am very concerned about this but I am not surprised. While reading about the unsolicited porn and other messages people are receiving on their cell phones.. I concluded that this must be what is happening. Most of our lives have been filled with work and other matters and it seems we are overlooking what is going on until it has already happened. I have to admit that I am not on top of things the same as I was only a few years ago! Thanks for posting the info.

Corbin this is far more dangerous to the average citizen
than the government tapping. This is an outrage and the people should be yelling as much as they are about the Federal fiasco!

Yes Corbin this does bother me, I read this last night
and couldn't believe it. Many of my cop buddies still on the job use their cellphones almost as much as their radios, and this is definitely a security breach. As far as NSA I am all for security and fighting terror but how far can we go? We know what we are told but we all know that so much more goes on behind our backs with the likes of the FBI, CIA etc and with todays technology even law enforcement from the town, county, and state levels are more sophistcated. Now I see last night a story about Homeland Security reading mail, how far will this go?

Hmmmm....
Thanks for the information.  If those are for sale, why is there such an outrage regarding wire tapping for public safety?  As Kevin Costner told Robert Duval in the Movie "Open Range", you're splitting hairs when a scenario appeared regarding shooting!  Oh well, as I said before, I need to be better informed!!  Nice post!
