- Go to Should there be a Mardi Gras in New Orleans this year?
The sad part is the people whining the most....
are the people that need it the most...... The Mississippi Coast is ready for their celebrations...kind of an appreciation to be alive thing......

First New Orleans proper, business district was hardly damaged. The money spent to revamp this area should be going to rebuilding homes, schools, hospitals, churches places where people congregate to carry on their lives. All the money being poured out to do a major remodeling job in the city of New Orleans is money taken out of the mouths and off the roofs of homes of the homeless in New Orleans. It is a Mayoral farce, one of many.

Corbin Dallas,
First and foremost, my government should be in New Orleans ass over elbows rebuilding it's infrastructure! With my President leading the charge! What is wrong with you people? Is this great "government backed construction company", Haliburton, too busy to handle the job??
You are un-American in my book! What are you first or second generation?? I have to be more careful about who I converse with!!

You really should check out anger management.........
It would benefit all the people of New Orleans.....and it would uplift ther spirit of most resident....except for the perpetual whiners.
Look at the jobs that would be returning.......for those willing to work.

Corbin Dallas,
That's right! All them angry Negroes might get in the way of a good time! But then you never let it bother you before, why start now?
Have they accounted for all the dead and missing? Again! Who cares??

I wouldn't want to go this year, but there is no doubt the city could use a boost any financial way they can get it! There is still so much trash and such, I would worry about the conditions no matter where I stayed.

Corbin,
I say yes to Mardi Gras. Easy needs to economic boost. I seriously doubt that there would be a major influx of visitors as too many would be scared of the region's displaced citizens, violence, and lack of accomodations, yet there will be many who will be willing to endure the negative. I would go if I had the money. Last time I went, I didn't have a hotel room, just pitched a tent with friends and never failed to find a daily shower. Shadow
