Of all the times to get this type of news! Not that any time is good, but this really sucks! There is a new place to blog that pays up to 900.00 per month and I think ARI is the one with the info. I live about 30 miles from Nashville and in a college town where the business people generally pay minimun wage or less if possible. I'm not crazy enough to drive into downtown Nashville for $7 or $8 bucks a hour or attempt to live there when rent is around $700+ for a one bedroom apartment. People are cheap around here for sure. I actually enjoy the substitute teaching if it would give me more days and the pay is not too shabby, but still not near enough to live on unless you are debt free. Shadow

I just must have bad karma...or the area I live in is bad...I can't find a job and I have a Masters in Psych...meanwhile managers at McDonalds make more money then I do...which says something about the value of education, doesn't it?

teaching?
any opportunities to teach part-time? I don't know your official qualifications, but you should be able to find some college that needs someont to teach what a verb is to 18 and 19-year olds. not the most ideal, perhaps, but it's something.

Kinda in the same boat here as substitute teaching becomes limited about a month before Christmas and doesn't generally pick up until end of January. Good luck with the job search. I don't care what the national stats try to con us with. Here in Tennessee there are more lay offs than normal and businesses closing down than there were last year. Plus we have more people living here now as Nashville and Tennessee took in a "lion's share" of the Katrina disaster. I'm seriously starting a out-of-state search for a permanent job. Shadow
