I have enjoyed reading these posts, Ariel...
It is nice to see others' viewpoints. And you say it well, also. I am not an atheist, but I, too, have struggled with trying to figure out what the "truth" is. (I always loved the X-Files and how the main slogan for the show was "The Truth Is Out There."
) But I also liked your comments (here in the comment section) about how we all need to love each other and treat each other with respect. (I am not quoting--that was just the gist.) I could NOT agree more.
You do a nice job, Ariel.

Thank you for your contradictory but courteous comment.
What particular part of my post do you take issue with? Or is it all of it?
I don't have a Bible to hand right now, but I assume that the Biblical references to which you suggest I refer are those concerning Creation. As I have long since shed any belief in Creation, I feel that it would be pointless to read the Biblical account of it once more, for it is as unlikely to convince me of its validity now as it was many years ago.
As you know by now, I do not deride Christian beliefs, nor Christians for holding them ; my strictures are directed solely against those who propagate hatred and intolerance, and persecute those who dissent from their views.
We are all, Christians, followers of other religions, and non-believers alike on a path to none may know where, and we all have a duty to love one another and assist each other along that path.

Thank you for your comment.
The Bible, and indeed all written and oral religious teachings must of necessity contain many contradiction, and modifications and amendments to the original, for such revisions are made by fallible humans.
Thank you for your continuing support..

I am not fussy about anyone printing or disseminating these posts in any way that they choose, for I feel that it is good for one's views to reach the widest readership possible.
I would appreciate your comments, when you have finished reading them.

Thank you for your comment.
One does not have to be a Christian to attempt to lead a good life, loving and caring for one's fellow humans. I am sure that most atheists, like me, respect other people's beliefs, and are tolerant towards other people.

As for my beliefs, I am 'out there.' As humans we have all these high ideals all housed in the bible and how to live and be the perfect being. But, we are only mortal. I believe in God cause I hope that something is better out there then what I have here....TF

I have read with utter interest your post. I also know that, you are open minded and do accept contradictions. It seldoms happen whenever I read your post, but this time around, permit me please to say no to your thesis. And since you are a chrsoitian or a former, I will recomend you to read the Genesis Chapter 1:1 and Hebrews Chapter 3:4. As for the blogger who attempted to say that, the bible is contradictory, he/she had better be careful.

Although the Bible says God created humankind in his own image, somewhere in Genesis it also says humans are inclined toward evil from childhood on. The Bible does make numerous contradictory claims.
