Ariel, I told you I was in Spain in 1973 after college. My heart is there!

Thank you for your comment.

Living in such surroundings, how could one not be inspired, and fired up to write of Spain and its history?

I am privileged indeed

A&B

That road is one of the busiest around here, for it serves the enormous horticultural area of Zafarraya, and is  a main road to Granada and beyond.

There are crash barriers, but I doubt if they'd stop you hurtling down the 700-800 feet to the bottom of the valley.

The disused railway track that we drive along is about 300 feet higher than that, very narrow, and doesn't have any crash barriers.

Live life to the full ... while you've got a chance, I always say LOL

Offbeats

The view from our front windows is similar to that, and behind and at each side of our house ate towering mountains, one of which has an underground lake.

Quite a place!!

I see that last photo now. It really curves. I wonder if it is a dangerous stretch to drive on.
