It'd Be Wonderful!
I once found a zipper wallet that small businesses use to deposit their earning for the day into the bank. I opened it up for identification, but there was none. I found only a thick wad of large bills. I didn't count it--didn't want to depress myself. Simply turned it in to the customer service desk at the grocery store outside of which I found the bag.
I felt good for my deed, yes, but I was quite pissed that the customer service people didn't bother to ask my name, didn't treat me well (like I was putting them out for doing a good deed), and were really rude to me (ignoring me at first, then being huffy with me when I said politely, "Excuse me?")
And they say "No good deed goes unnoticed."
