That is so mean. And, to me, I have a disgust for the word retard also as well as mental midgets that use the phrase
ride the little yellow bus, which is also disrespectful to other of god's children as well. I'm glad you took up for the girl. I would have also, regardless if I knew her sister or not.

She looks so sweet...
So sad that this happened to her. Good that you were there to stick up for her. Kids can be so cruel. I know the feeling, we have our bully in the neighborhood but nothing like that yet. Wow, I don't blame you, I'm so scared to let my kids grow up and out in the world, it seems such a scary place these days.

what a cute kid
I can't believe someone kicked her in the stomach... you need to report the arcade to the police and perhaps press charges.

Symphony....
Good for you and the stand that you took. It is a parants job to teach the children love and compassion but many times due to a number of outside influances the children do not heed what they have been taught. They need to know that thier actions will have consequences.

There have always been bullies, and yes they are very hurtful to others. I just hate to hear about these kind of things. One would hope the parents would teach them better!! I am sorry!!

Yes I did see red.....and argh...!!!!!
I explained to my kids that there are some horrible people about that are bullies...I also told them that they are never to do what mummy did...for any reason.... only in the case to stand up for what is right!
...AND I will forever teach them this...I don't want them to be like the people who walk past people who are victims...I want them to help in someway!!

Kids in a group become bold because of their herd mentality. Good for you that you proved a point with them.

Symphony, how shocking! I don't think it is confined to youth or this day and age. There have always been such people about. I know you reacted because you saw red but nevertheless it takes courage. How did you explain it to your children? They must have been shocked to see it.

Geez, who is the "retard" if older, supposedly "smart" boys! no less? have to beat up on a smaller girl! They should be ashamed of themselves for even _thinking_ about doing it, much less hurting her. Are they out kicking puppies now?
Ticks me off too, obviously...

Symphony, it's so sad that kids are this way.....
It comes from lack of love and supervision and teaching from their parents. Kids just say whatever they want and don't take other people's feelings into consideration.
I have a sister who is mentally challenged and I, too, hate the word ""retard" and get very angry when I hear it used. If these nasty people were to spend any time around these children and adults and found just how loving they are, they may find out just how delightful they are. Their love is unconditional and they trust everyone. That's their only downfall.
Anyway, don't want to get me started on this subject. lol Welcome back, Sweetie, we missed you, but are glad you got to get away. Now, get writing....lol

It's bad enough on its own, but those pictures make it more personal. Good for you for having a go at those clowns. I share your worry about kids today and where things will be 10 years down the road. There should be more reactions like yours. Maybe there will be

Symphony,
Seems that today's kids have no respect for anyone. That's the parents fault. Its also the parents fault when they can't or they refuse to control their kid's actions and movements. I'm so sorry this happened to the little girl. I hope she doesn't retain any ill effects from the ordeal. Shadow

It is awful. I would personally approach the kids parents. It seems that society has taken away the ability to punish children, we are now forced into the more politically correct "time outs" than the good old fashioned ass kicking. Those thugs need to be given a taste of their own medicine.
