Now who wouldn't like the real you?
And if you can't tell us about your brother who can you tell? (Maybe I'm just naive, which is entirely possible.)

The human condition
Is the fact that we are conditioned to present to the world one face when what exists underneath are so many more. I'm glad that you feel comfortable to discuss with us about your brother. I think your expected everyone to disassociate from you and maybe some did...but that doesn't mean that you are JUST your brother's sister. You are also the woman who buys Furbies...to bad you took them back...seems like you wanted to keep them and if it makes you happy...why rip it away from yourself? ( I have two downstairs...and I swear to God...I really think they are starting to get to KNOW me....ha ha) So, thanks for your honesty and keep writing.

I agree with what some have said, why can't you still be that person?
I've seen lots of people that break their blogs into fun or serious or journals or whatever... just be yourself. What does it really matter what other people think?

Quirky,
What a great experiment in popularity, perception and public psychology. (whew, enough with the p's already). It must have helped a lot to see that "you" are not who people are reacting to, but they're perception of you.

Quirkyalone, It is all about perception and association. Unless we know a person in reality outside of Blogit, all we know is what we are told by the blogger and we have our own interpretation of what they write. We each develop our own perception of a blogger and develop (or not) an association with the person we have perceived. Although you saw yourself as one, and the same person as before, I probably perceived something completely different and perhaps associated with one or the other not knowing it was the same. Somehow, I think I am repeating myself and not making much sense.

Quirky
Why don't you try doing the same thing, except with both personas under the Quirky tag. I mean add a new blog for the Quirky self that you enjoyed being. That way, people can pick their favourite Quirky. We'll know it's still you, except it would be like seeing you a different mood, not as a different person. My other self told me to tell you this

Ah! Confession is good for the soul....
I guess you needed that experiment to prove certain points to yourself. Funny, I never think about the fact that you have a brother who did what he did, until you mention it. I take people at face value. When you prove you are not worth my trust, then I have problems with you.

Quirk,
Well, there is nothing wrong with expressing ur feelings and jotting them down, for u are sharing your pain with others. When you wrote ur blog about ur situation, I felt like I was in ur shoes, I related some what with what u had to say. There is just so much that I feel I cannot reveal only for fear of a "relative" viewing my writings of my past. Please be urself. Do not care what others like. Write for you. If one were to have expections, then if they are not met, disappointment follows. Live ur life, and do not look around. You only need One identity. Just You. Just Quirk.

Quirks-
I want you to be who you are. That's the girl I've come to know (a little) and love! I know there's a lot more to learn, but I'd rather get to know YOU than some idealized fictional character.

Quirky,
You are YOU and that is all you should want to be. Perhaps it is easier to say so than to believe so...but I think you are a beautiful quilt of many colours, and you should be proud to be a masterpiece! sending you good thoughts...

To love unconditionally, no matter one's past, one's relations, one's name change or even one's quirky (which applies to all of us) personality -- such is a worthy goal for each of us!

Quirky...I agree with Talion that it was your business to create
another name and appear as someone else. But let me ask you something. Would you:
A.) Be offended if someone did the same thing to you? Would you feel betrayed or manipulated?
B.) Find the behavior creative and cunning and appreciate one's ability to use express themselves on a fictional level.
or
C.) Have no feeling on the topic at all?
If one did this I would go with B so long as there weren't emails and personal communication going on outside of Blogit. However, if one chose to manipulate outside of Blogit I'm afraid I would go with A.

Quirky You Are Still Her
You are still her only better. You were smart enough to figure out that a new persona would give you the break you needed. You are just keeping her under wraps until you have another forum in which she can flourish and then you can bring her out and you can be whole. We all have to step back from ourselves sometimes. That way we can see even better how to approach the situation the next time. You did the right thing (people can be short-sighted...let that be their problem and not yours). You keep being wonderful you. By the way...thanks for enjoying my poetry.

Quirky!
You are you - one of the best writers I've read on Blogit. You are Baby Quirky, Rocky's Mom, and the loving sister of a man who did terrible things. They are all part of who you are. I am priviledged to have the opportunity to get to know you through your posts and your comments. You are a whole person, worthy of accolades and love. Julia, you are wonderful. All of you.

Quirkyalone
I had my suspicions that a certain blogger that appeared around the same time you left for a while was indeed you, but I saw no point in mentioning it. It would seem the only purpose asking would serve would to prove how "smart" I am for figuring it out and that's not really much of an accomplishment on a grander scale. If it was you, then you had your reasons, none of which was my business.

People are often threatened by those who are comfortable being themselves. I quit running from who I am (here) a few months ago, and I've never regretted it. It IS hard, but I don't feel like I'm misleading anyone anymore. Sure, a few people have called me names or blatantly asked me to change, but no dice. I think the "other" quirky is right there. After all, we are NEVER just one aspect of our personality. Believe it or not, I can (and often am) quite serious. But it doesn't dominate me... I feel I've done a good job showing both sides--one through "Opinions" and the other through "Ramblings". Good for you that you have decided to be true to yourself. Remember, it is about YOU, not US--no matter what anyone says.
