I have a friend who never farts, her husband says that her mouth is open so often that she can't build up enough preasure to pass gas.

I guess it's how you're raised...
My father was a "pull my finger" guy. My Grandfather would let one rip then jump up and pretend to chase it around, throwing his hat at it and carrying on. I guess maybe for some it's harmless fun and that beats being up-tight about it. Now, my wife's family never farts...I am waiting for them to explode.

Farts are, indeed, funny. In the supermarket, your father pulled off the stealthy "floating one." Oft-times tried, infrequently successfully pulled off.
