It's the only way I know how to write, which is probably why I am lousy with fiction.  Thank you.

Wifey,
Good post, but you sound kind of sad. You O.K.?

Great post!!
It would do our country a world of good if everybody could read the sincerity and passion of this entry, Military. Excellent post!

I think you should consider printing this out, sanding any rough edges and find an appropriate publication to submit it to. You might be able to sell it.

Plenty of them do it
Once a soldier, always a soldier. It runs through their veins. You have to admit that there is a certain feeling that you get when you see a soldier. Protection comes to mind, and pride.

I remember being young
Taht was BEFORE I married a soldier!  It would be an interesting study to see how many left service and went back in one way or another and why.

Lol, mine was actually considering going back in
They take years off of your age for time served so he can actually re-enlist. I threatened his life over that one. He is so military it isn't even funny.

Sorry, I forgot to tell you
His basic training was in San Diego, and he was stationed in Jacksonville & NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach, Va. He went on a three week det to Nevada where I met him on the base at NAS Fallon where I worked at the Officer's & enlisted clubs as a waitress. Gawd i was soooo young then.

What is it with these men that get out

and go into the reserves???  I will never get that LOL!  Carl told me today that if it weren't for me he would have volunteered to stay there another year.

20 years, now that is something to be very proud of.

Yeppers, lol
It will be twenty years in April. We lived in California at the time, and he was told to prepare for mobilization. He had just been discharged from the Navy, but he still had 4 years of inactive duty to serve. I guess he didn't get his fill, because he later went into the Army Reserves. We are civilians now, but I truly appreciate the military life, its a rough adventure as well as a great one.

Sassy
My husband was in basic training during Panama.  They were told directly out of basic they would go.  By the time basic was over we weren't sending troops.  He ended up stationed in Fort Ritchie.  You've been married a day or two haven't you LOL!

I cannot even imagine what its like for you
other then anxiety attacks, fear & hopelessness. I am also married to a military man. He is out now, but he almost went to the Panama war. I remember how the fear embraced me so hard that I almost got physically sick. I was petrified. I also remember the pride that I felt because I was married to someone who was part of a unique group of people that protect us. I pray that you will get through this, and you will. Keep your chin up.
