Just a little update on this

The soldiers mother passed October 14.  She had her children with her...including her son.

Both the soldier and his sister thanked us for our efforts.  There was nothing to thank us for, we did what we hoped someone would do for us in similar circumstances.  What I can say, is I have never felt so good about helping someone in my life.

Mom left this earth in peace and while her son will grieve her loss, he knows he gave her the one wish she had: him.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

This is so sad. ., for this poor guy to lose both his wife and his mother during his tour. It seems so very unfair.

Hope he gets home before she dies.

I certainly did not do it by myself, there were others working with me and as a group and with some help from above this worked out.  Hopefully, in time.

keep up the good work...
Must make you feel needed, knowing you've taken on the hard things and won a victory on behalf of someone who'd come to the end of their endurance.

Militarywife, that's a relief because it actions don't get any lower than belittling the pain of others

I am so sorry for this. I shall put this family on my prayer list. This is a really bad situation for this soldier. God bless him.

Thank you so much.  We are waiting to hear that the soldier has arrived home at this point and praying that his mother is able to hang on long enough.

My prayers are with them Military.  Why does there always seem to some heartless barstard in a position of authority who cannot see how much they are hurting others??

I am pleased that you had the intestinal fortitude to stand up for what you know is right.

Cheers Roony35

There are several family members who are filing a complaint at the state level about this woman as this is not the first time she has taken someone's pain and belittled it.

Militarywife, is it not worth considering making a full account of this and sending it to her superiors? Next time that woman might make the difference between seeing their loved one or not. She has no right to play God. Besides, why should ANYONE have to go through such stress at such a difficult time? It makes me mad just reading your post. I hope he gets to see his mother.

Luckily our unit is basically preparing to come home right now so once he returns he will pretty likely not be doing alot more than inventory and packing but I still can't imagine how difficult this is going to be for him.  thanks for dropping by.

I am really upset over this.  It should have never been so difficult for this family.  Now all I can do is pray that the mother makes it until her son gets home.  Thank you.

This Is Just An Awful...

situation for this young man to find himself in. Most folks can never comprehend the courage and iron will required of soldiers...especially soldiers sent to the field during wartime. They're superhuman at times. I can't imagine saying goodbye to my dying mother and then returning with any conviction to a job where I might have to kill the enemy. What do you do? Translate your grief into anger and let loose on the enemy just to cope?
