It's apleasur to correspond with a fellow music love.
Now, " Watkin's Ale" is a very, very old English song, and I'm not sure if it isn't the earliest one in English. It's either that, or " Bring us in Good Ale" Interesting, eh?
I haven't heard of those people that you mention, but I'll certainly look them up on the net.
I have an absolutely ravishin video tape ( but I no longer have a TV or video!) of a long piece called " Stravaganza dei Medici" written to celebrate a Medici marriage.
Four of my favourite female singers are in it ; Emma Kirkby, Evelyn Tubb, Katerine Bott, and Emily van Evera. It is so beautiful! I don't know if you would be able to get it tho' because it was made for Channel 4 TV in Britain. Try the web?
CU on your blog!LOL

Wow, those recipes sound delicious. I think I'll give them a try!
re early music: Thanks so much for visiting (moonstruck muse). I'll have to keep those recordings you suggested in mind. I haven't bought anything new since I got married. I think my favorite group is the Baltimore Consort, and I really enjoy their album Watkins Ale. Unfortunately, I loaned that CD to a young man I was seeing nearly ten years ago, and he ran off with it. I think he was dating me just for my music! I never got around to picking up a new one. I think I was holding on to the hope he'd have the heart to return it to me! Have you heard of Owaine Fyfe (I think I spelled his name right)? He has some good recordings, too, but does the Ren Faire circuit in the US, so might not be known in Europe. He is a sought-after performer, and very good. Check him out on the Internet. And my all-time favorite CD is one of Elizabethan lute music called Rosa. The artist's name is Christopher Wilson. I put an irreparable crack in that CD a while back, and can now only listen to a part of it. I'm heartbroken about this, because I think the CD is out of print and I haven't been able to locate another.

Where I live (Basque Spain) ensalada mixta also usually contains some boiled eggs, quatered; tuna; and blanched asparagus from a jar. I think they're scared of green things and need to space it out

Good! They'll love 'em, I'm sure.
What I didn't add was that one can add chopped up bits of leftover meat, etc
