That's pretty cool he had
saved a Mountain Dew for his birthday.

You are the romantic, Military. Carl is very fortunate to have you to come back to.

I wish you the best no matter what he decides.  For oyur sake, I hope he does not join the Marines.

Good luck & Happy Birthday to your hubby!
I can't really imagine what it must be like for you two...my fiance is still considering joining the Marines and even though I hope he doesn't, because I can't stand the thought of ever being without him, I know that if that is what he decides to do, I will support him 110%. My boss's son (Marine) came home for a visit and I saw him yesterday, and it is the most joyous occasion to share in. Two of my dear friends are out there somewhere too, and I can only pray for them and hope that I will see them again soon. I will pray for your husband too. Congrats on getting to see him soon, and I know he is just as excited as you are!

Actually the humor at the end it an inside joke between the two of us.  Thanks so much!

Hey, best wishes to your hubby,
and your list sounds a little poignant, despite the attempt at humor at the end.I hope all your wishes for him come true!

Personally I DETEST venison, while my husband prefers it over anything.  This past year with him gone I have eaten very little meat because I can't see wasting more than I eat and I have to admit, I don't miss it.

wife no problem

I have lived in the south my entire life. Venison is not an uncommon entree and I have tried it  I'm not a big meat eater anyway though. Give me the salad and sides and I'm happy

Take it up with my husband.  He grew up eating venison over any other meat...someday I'll write about his hometown and the very, very sad economy.  For him this is food, though he is always coveting the very largest of the large.
